01Who we are

SiteBox (“we”, “us”) designs and builds custom websites for businesses and delivers a free preview of each one. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and request a website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

02What we collect

When you request a website we collect what you give us:

• your name, email address and, if you choose to give it, your phone number;
• your current website address and any websites you tell us you like;
• your answers about your business, your goals, your ideal customers, your services and anything else you choose to share.

When you visit our website we also collect standard technical information: your browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and an approximate location derived from your connection. We do not collect payment card details on this website.

03How we use it

We use your information to:

• design, build and deliver the website you asked for, and send you the link to it;
• contact you about your website, including asking for your feedback once it has been delivered;
• answer your questions and provide support;
• keep our website secure and understand how it is used so we can improve it;
• meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

04Your current website

To build your new website we look at the public content of the website address you give us: its text, services, images and branding. We use that content only to prepare your new website. If you decide not to buy it, the website stays private and is never shown to anyone else.

05Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run SiteBox, such as website hosting, email delivery and customer relationship tools. They may use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

06Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your progress in our request form, to keep the site secure and to measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site, such as saving your progress, may then not work.

07How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as we need it to provide your website and respond to you, and for as long as the law requires afterwards. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.

08Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each email. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local privacy law. To make a request, contact us by replying to any email we send you.

09Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Children

SiteBox is a service for businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant we will tell you before it applies to you.
